Teams are critical to the success of a project.

Project Mangers have the responsibility of building and leading the project teams but this isn’t always easy or successful. Teams work best when roles are clear, expectations are communicated and individuals feel they are part of something that matters.

Three simple ways to improve team dynamics:

Stop the blame game! – provide a positive environment for team communication; facilitate when there are issues; ensure you have a safe, open environment for team members to share concerns, project risks or admit errors or delays.
Listen to your team and understand their challenges and complaints – often you will find that a grievance aired is sometimes all it takes to make it go away – just knowing someone cares and is listening is all someone needs to feel appreciated and part of the team
Appreciate and recognize people’s contributions –say ‘thank you’, it goes a long way – encourage people to be their best.
